According to CEA’s semi-annual report, the market for fitness technology is predicted to grow nearly 25 percent in 2014. CES will showcase the latest developments and discoveries across the digital fitness category. FitnessTech will feature hundreds of products, services and solutions that use technology to make workouts and outdoor activities fun, safe and effective. Major FitnessTech exhibitors include: Fitbit, GeoPalz, Jaybird, Looxcie, Polar and Wahoo Fitness. The TechZone will be located in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center.
“With improvements in sensor technology, devices can monitor everything from steps taken to stairs climbed, which allows consumers to better monitor their daily activity and create smarter goals. There’s no denying that fitness has gone high tech and that CES is the place to experience the latest consumer health tech advances,” comments Karen Chupka, senior vice president, International CES and corporate business strategy, CEA.
Julie Sylvester, producer, FitnessTech Summit, commented: “Tech provides a shot of adrenaline to the fitness industry. The fact that FitnessTech has outperformed the industry’s projected growth, shows that we’ve tapped into an increasingly important part of the CE industry.”
In addition to the TechZone, a full-day FitnessTech conference produced by LIDT will take place during the 2014 CES on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. It will highlight key trends impacting the collective multi-billion dollar sports, fitness and outdoor markets. Hot topics of discussion will include: a battle of the bands (fitness bands), the quantified generation, wearable tech and how fitness devices will get even smarter. More details, including session schedules, descriptions and conference registration will be available in the coming weeks.
The 2014 CES will feature 20 market-specific TechZones highlighting innovations across 15 different product categories.
