Intersil joins rapidly expanding HDcctv alliance

Intersil announces that it has joined the HDcctv Alliance. Intersil is a market leader in security and surveillance systems and will be contributing to the Alliance’s work to define open standards for interoperability of HD cameras, recording devices, and related equipment in the HD video surveillance sector.

Susan Hardman, senior vice president of Specialty Products at Intersil, comments: “Intersil’s commitment to surveillance system interoperability is reflected in our development of industry-leading four-channel 960H and Security Link Over Coax products. We will be working closely with the other members of the HDcctv Alliance to develop the industry standards required to ensure global market expansion.”

Todd Rockoff, Executive Director of the HDcctv Alliance, welcomed Intersil’s participation, commenting: “The Alliance was formed by innovators responding to the market’s need for best-quality high-definition video transmission over conventional surveillance infrastructure and the industry’s need for 100% multi-vendor interoperability,” he said. “Intersil joining the Alliance helps to further validate the group as this industry’s most vital standards body. We anticipate Intersil making significant contributions to the technical content of the evolving HDcctv standard.”
