These combined features make the device particularly suitable for a wide range of battery-powered products that require a high precision clock such as smart metering products.
The HT1585 includes a fully integrated precision 32768Hz crystal with full temperature compensation function, as well as an integrated 400 KHz high speed I2C interface for communication with external devices. In addition to providing a full calendar function, the device also includes a clock counter function and a range of other features such as alarm function, time update interrupt function, multiple temperature compensation level select function etc. An output which generates a fixed 32768Hz output is also provided for additional flexibility.
The device comes supplied in a 14-pin SOP package type, which together with its ultra power consumption and high precision functions will allow product designers to rapidly and easily integrate precision clock functions into their products. Such a product range would include smart meters, measuring instruments, green appliances, handheld products and consumer electronics etc.
