Help The Hospices is the leading charity supporting hospice care throughout the UK. Each TT electronics site in the UK has been twinned with a hospice in its area, so fundraising and volunteer work is directly relevant to the local community. The Go Yellow days, designed to reflect Help The Hospices’ sunflower emblem, involved TT electronics’ staff engaging in fund-raising activities around a yellow theme – these included wearing yellow, selling yellow home-baked cakes and organising raffles. A donation was also made centrally by TT electronics to the national Help The Hospices charity and all funds raised by the companies are being matched by TT electronics for the local hospices. The CSR programme is integral to TT electronics’ business strategy and we take our corporate responsibilities seriously across the group as an employer, manufacturer, investor and a consumer, commented Geraint Anderson, TT electronics CEO. Our charitable partnership with Help The Hospices, holds true to that philosophy and we are delighted to be working with them. We are encouraging our staff across the UK to get involved and we want them to have fun doing so. All monies raised will go towards the incredibly valuable cause of providing the best possible care for people living with and dying from a life-limiting or terminal illness.
TT electronics prides itself on operating in a responsible and sustainable manner and is committed to understanding, monitoring and managing its social, environmental and economic impact to enable it to contribute to society’s wider goal of more sustainable development. TT is a member of the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) which provides a framework for greater understanding of issues affecting the electronics industry, particularly around global supply chains.
