Quadrant appointed as UK agent for Marquardt switches

Quadrant has been appointed as a UK agent for the well-known German connector manufacturer, Marquardt and will now offer the full range of Marquardt standard switches in the UK both directly and through its UK distribution network.

Products will include a wide range of appliance switches, snap-action switches and key modules for virtually every type of electrical equipment including customised systems for white goods and vacuum cleaners.

Almost all Marquardt’s switches are tested according to EN 61058-1 resp. IEC 1058-1 and carry either the standard European test mark ENEC or the national test mark. Licences for the USA and Canada are granted according to UL 1054 and C 22.2 – 55 respectively.

Marquardt GmbH was formed in 1925 and is based in Reitheim-Weilheim. It is an independent family business and has 11 production and sales locations worldwide, employing 3,500 people with a turnover close to €400 million.

David Phillips, Quadrant UK sales and marketing director, said: “Marquardt standard switches represent an important, complementary addition to our existing product portfolio of connectors, cables and cable assemblies. Marquardt products are used in virtually every application where man encounters technology and this extensive, high quality product profile and ethos fits with our strategy of offering top quality electro-mechanical products to the UK market.”

Wolfgang Richter, Marquardt sales area manager added: “The key to our appointment of Quadrant as a distributor for the UK was the company’s success in promoting and selling a range of complementary and non-competitive products from other German manufacturers through a well-established sales force and sub-distributor network.”
