Processing units enhance VR and 4K streaming experiences
Two products have been launched by ARM which are designed to address Generation Z and mainstream demands for more immersive and interactive visual content on mobile devices. The two products are; the Mali-V61 Video Processing Unit (VPU) for real-time 4K120 video performance and the Mali-G51 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

One of the major problems in nursing homes is that many older people do not move enough. VR reveals people's behaviour in difficult situations
VR technology could show how a person would really behave in a morally difficult situation – despite what he or she might claim on paper, according to new research by Plymouth University. The study led by Kathryn Francis, PhD student in the School of Psychology, found that people are more likely to sacrifice others for what they imagine to be the greater good when immersed in VR.
Mass-market appeal created by Sony PlayStation VR
Sony’s PlayStation VR has set a new bar for mass-market appeal of virtual reality, and is lighter and more attractive than competitors such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. At $400, the PlayStation VR is not cheap. But it’s still less expensive than its competitors and doesn’t require a high-end computer to work if you already have a PlayStation 4.
Archaeology and 3D technology reconstruct Pompeii
By combining traditional archaeology with 3D technology, researchers at Lund University in Sweden have managed to reconstruct a house in Pompeii to its original state before the volcano eruption of Mount Vesuvius thousands of years ago. Unique video material has now been produced, showing their creation of a 3D model of an entire block of houses.
