A wide variety of security devices for medical disposables from Maxim Integrated are in stock at Mouser Electronics. Including DeepCover secure authenticators and 1-Wire memory devices, Maxim’s portfolio of security devices offers a layer of protection for medical devices including single-use products, surgical tools, medication cartridges, and pulse-oximetry probes.

The devices are also suitable for Internet of Things (IoT) node authentication and secure management of limited-use consumables.

To ensure patient safety, health care workers must process, sterilise, and operate many consumable and disposable medical products under carefully controlled conditions.

By designing authentication and security features into medical devices, manufacturers and health care centers can help ensuring that these limited-use medical products cannot be reused or used too many times, and that counterfeits can be effectively and efficiently detected and removed from the supply chain.

Maxim’s security devices for medical disposables protect medical devices against security breaches, counterfeiting, and unauthorised overuse.

Offering both contact and contactless authentication solutions, Maxim’s security devices rely on challenge-response protocols to establish the identity of a device.

The secure authenticators offer easy integration into embedded designs, helping to meet the requirements for Unique Device Identification (UDI) as established by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Maxim’s DS28C36 and DS28E36 DeepCover secure authenticators feature cryptographic tools derived from integrated symmetric and asymmetric security functions.

The DS28E38 DeepCover secure authenticator is an ECDSA public key-based device, and boasts Maxim’s ChipDNA physically unclonable function (PUF) technology to prevent invasive physical attacks.

The DS28E83 DeepCover 1-Wire authenticator offers high radiation resistance, enabling user programmable manufacturing or calibration data prior to medical sterilisation.
