Saelig Company, Inc. has introduced ScanaLogic2, an amazingly full-featured, compact, easy to use PC-based 4-channel logic analyzer and signal generator all in a single tiny, economical package. ScanaLogic2 is not only a logic analyzer, but also a comprehensive digital signal generator - a complete lab tool, all in one compact box.

ScanaLogic2 is a simple device to use, easily mastered by beginners and professionals. Additionally, ScanaLogic2 provides the ability to generate digital signals, while recording the response on other channels. ScanaLogic2 provides computer-independent performance and timings, with a quartz-accurate maximum sampling rate of 20MSa/s. The PC software provided features all the scrolling and navigation options you would expect in any professional logic analyzer, and the user interface for ScanaLogic2 is extremely intuitive.

Like expensive logic analyzers, ScanaLogic2 captures and analyzes digital lines, but serial protocols can be sampled, decoded, displayed and analyzed too (UART, SPI, I2C, 1-Wire, Maple bus, etc.). More protocols are available regularly with the free software updates. The built-in FFT Fourier analysis feature allows you to check the frequencies of PWM signals as well as displaying them simultaneously.

ScanaLogic2 can monitor logic changes on up to 4 digital signal lines, store the captured data in a file, or send them over the Internet to other users or for later playback. Images of signal timings, decoded data and markers can be captured and stored, and exported too, to facilitate report writing. The Dual View capability allows easy visual comparison of different data captures. Recording serial data and playing it back is as simple as audio recording. All four channels offer signal generation and playback. In mixed mode, 2 channels can record while two channels are playing back (outputting) a stored signal, and the Live Scrolling mode has a 50, 100 or 250ms refresh rate.

Additionally, ScanaLogic2 lets you generate 4 channels of digital data streams: generate all kinds of PWM (pulse width modulation) signals to control motors drivers, RGB LEDs or other devices; generate various FM (frequency modulation) signals to test speakers or ultrasound systems; generate Serial Data and pulses sequences to test equipment or projects using user-friendly syntax.

ScanaLogic2 supports 1.8V, 2.8V, 3.3V and 5V logic levels, and works with USB1.1 and USB2.0 interfaces without any need for drivers. The four digital channels offer 256Ksamples of storage per channel. You can configure colors for better visibility of relevant signals. Parameters and configurations can be auto-saved. With all these features, ScanLogic2 is sure to become a favorite, indispensable tool for every engineer's kit.
