NI Connect, this year’s incarnation of NIWeek, saw the release of LabVIEW 2021 which brings new features to the software platform.

Says NI, “Open-source software is increasingly important as systems become more diverse and complex.”

The 2021 version of LabVIEW features improved interoperability with Python and MathWorks MATLABsoftware, improved support for version control using Git and usability enhancements.

NI says that these updates make it easier for engineers to connect disparate systems and hardware to accelerate innovation, especially in the design and validation environments.

All LabVIEW licenses now include access to LabVIEW for any OS and there is increased flexibility to develop 64-bit applications and use LabVIEW on the OS of the user’s choice.

Ni also announced a streamlined SystemLinksoftware interface to increase efficiency. The latest software enhancements include new UI customisation options, simplified product navigation and expanded asset health monitoring capabilities.

On the hardware front NI unveiled a new 2-slot PXI solution. It enables software-connected workflow in a smaller, cost-effective package.
