Flexible Coaxial Test Cables to 18GHz

Available from stock and in standard lengths up to five metres the brand new ARC-CA18 series of Coaxial test Cables from AtlanTecRF are designed for general purpose laboratory and equipment applications where durability, performance and affordability are key features.

With velocity of propagation at 70% and a frequency range of DC-18GHz, these newly available test cables feature the choice of either SMA or type N stainless steel connectors to MIL-C-39012 and achieve phase stability of +/-2 degrees.

The cable construction starts with a solid silver plated copper-clad steel centre conductor surrounded by a solid PTFE dielectric over which is a triple layer of shielding. The inner shield is silver plated copper tape, the middle shield is aluminium-polyester tape and the outer layer is silver plated copper braid. Outside this comprehensive structure is an FEP jacket with overall diameter of 4.95mm.

Geoff Burling, AtlanTecRF CEO said, “This durable cable delivers attenuation figures of 0.8dB/ft at 18GHz while, at the same frequency, the VSWR is 1.3:1 with shielding effectiveness of 100dB and an operating temperature range of -55 to +105C.”

Connector bodies, whether SMA or type N, are of passivated stainless steel enclosing PTFE insulators and gold plated beryllium-copper centre pins. Each assembly comes with standard three level poylolefin strain reliefs and marker sleeves.

The standard test cables are available from stock in 0.5 metre increments from 0.5 metres through to 5.0 metres but custom lengths and connector options are also available to order on short delivery times.
