ADAS SoC becomes test and programming instrument
The VarioTAP technology for universal processor emulation to the R-Car V3M SoCs (System-on-Chip) from Renesas has been extended by GÖPEL electronic. This transforms the processor into a design-integrated test and programming instrument via the control of the debug port.
VarioTAP allows developers of assemblies with R-Car V3M components to perform onboard programming of connected flash components and fast RAM connection tests.
The Low-Power Image Recognition SoC is optimised for use in front and surround view camera systems as well as LIDAR sensor systems. The VarioTAP model for the R-Car V3M is a software option that enables the use of the various controller modules via the corresponding debug interface.
Thus the different functions of the modules can be used for test programs. The controller itself becomes a test and programming instrument.
After selecting the controller model, the connected hardware units can be tested and validated and flash memory can be programmed. External RAM connection tests are also available.
