Rutronik, in partnership with Intel, provides a facial recognition solution utilising Intel's RealSense ID technology, which incorporates advanced image processing and AI to deliver highly reliable authentication.

This technology functions effectively regardless of skin colour or ambient light conditions. An active stereo depth sensor paired with a specialised neural network ensures a secure and intuitive user experience that improves over time, adapting to changes in individuals' appearances. This makes it particularly suited for applications such as access control systems, ATMs, and kiosks. Intel's solution, available in both retail (including camera, USB cable, and tripod) and bulk (camera only) versions, and the F450 module, can be found at www.rutronik24.com.

The Intel RealSense ID F450 is an embedded module designed for facial authentication, running on a real-time operating system (RTOS) with neural network algorithms. It integrates essential optical components and processing hardware, enabling robust, localised facial recognition capabilities that can be incorporated into both new and existing products. The F450 offers excellent price-performance value and allows for seamless integration into various designs. The Intel RealSense ID F455, incorporating the F450 module, is a ready-to-use device perfect for immediate integration.

The technology features an active depth sensor that projects an infrared pattern, ensuring precise identification in challenging lighting conditions and authenticates in under a second. It allows interaction from various angles, accommodating individuals ranging from 120 to 190cm tall at a distance of 55cm, making the system user-friendly for both children and adults. With Anti-spoofing technology, it identifies persons with a 99.75% accuracy, safeguarding against attempts to deceive the system using photos, videos, or 3D masks.

Intel's facial recognition technology ensures comprehensive security and privacy. It does not store actual images of faces; instead, it captures unique facial data points comparable to fingerprints. These impressions are processed using AI to verify identities with a false acceptance rate (FAR) of 1:1,000,000. The captured facial data cannot be reconstructed into an actual face, preserving individual privacy while providing a secure authentication solution.
