Mouser Electronics is now stocking the LSM6DSV16X iNEMO inertial module from STMicroelectronics.

This inertial module is a 3-axis digital accelerometer and a 3-axis digital gyroscope. The LSM6DSV16X has a triple core for processing acceleration and angular rate data on three separate channels. It has dedicated configuration, processing, and filtering.

The module integrates intelligent on-chip functionalities enabling processes in edge computing, leveraging embedded advanced dedicated features such as a finite state machine (FSM) for configurable motion tracking and a machine learning core (MLC) for context awareness with exportable AI features for IoT applications.

The device supports the adaptive self-configuration (ASC) feature, which allows the FSM to automatically reconfigure the device in real-time based on the detection of a specific motion pattern or based on the output of a specific decision tree configured in the MLC, without any intervention from the host processor.

It also enables sensor fusion low power (SFLP), on-the-fly self-configuration, and AI algorithms.

The module embeds Qvar (electric charge variation detection) for user interface functions like tap, double tap, triple tap, long press, or L/R – R/L swipe, and it embeds an analogue hub able to connect an external analogue input and convert it to a digital signal for processing.

The module is ideal for advanced 3D phone mapping, context awareness in laptops and tablets, reliable and precise gesture recognition in AR and VR headsets, and always-on tracking in wearables.
