Industrial pressure transducer for OEM applications
Suitable for use in OEM applications requiring high accuracy, Measurement Specialties has announced a cost-effective industrial pressure transducer. The U5200 incorporates a stainless steel housing with a large selection of threaded fittings, electrical connectors and cable options to give designers a reliable transducer tailored to their specific application environment.
Sensor adjusts fan speed in response to temperature change
Compatible with the larger models in the range of electronically commutated (EC) TopTherm fan-and-filter units, Rittal has announced a fan speed control sensor. This handy and compact device automatically adjusts the fan speed in response to changes in temperature inside the enclosure.
Temperature sensor offers high measurement accuracy
At Sensor+Test 2014, June 3-5 in Nürnberg, Sensirion will present its latest temperature sensor, the STSC1. Combining high measurement accuracy with an extremely attractive price-performance ratio, this latest generation of temperature sensors features high accuracy, low power consumption and minimal size.
Device is 'world's smallest' proximity/illuminance sensor
The LT-1PA01 is being called, by the manufacturer Murata, the world's smallest combined proximity and illuminance sensor. The surface-mounted device measures 3.05x2.10x1.10mm and integrates both an optical proximity sensor and an illuminance sensor. The proximity sensor uses a photoreceptor to measure the distance to an object based on the amount of returned light.
Capacitive digital humidity sensor for smartphones
Suited for embedding in smartphones and other mobile devices, the HSHCAL series digital humidity sensor has been announced by ALPS Electric. The manufacturer has claimed that the capacitive digital humidity sensor delivers digital output and features the world’s smallest mounting area of 2.0x2.0mm.
Mass production announced for digital pressure sensor series
Designed for embedding in smartphones and other mobile devices, the HSPPAD Series digital pressure sensor has been launched by ALPS Electric. Mass production commenced in April 2014. Today’s mobile devices and home appliances contain a large number of sensors. Used, for example, to detect the status of doors and lids, as well as environmental characteristics such as direction, illumination, air pressure and humidity, sensors enhan...
Sensors precisely and reliably detect liquid levels
Combining ultrasonic technology with reliable analog circuitry to precisely measure aerated liquids, the LL-01 Sentio series of miniature ultrasonic liquid level switches have been announced by Measurement Specialties. The rugged, 316L stainless steel sensors are not affected by the dielectric or optical properties of liquids.
Hall effect rotary position sensor is plug-and-play
Featuring an integral six-pin mating connector, Piher Sensors and Controls introduce the second generation non-contacting PSC-360 Hall effect rotary position sensor. The magnetic sensor package eliminates the need for wire harnesses and separate mating connector, making it easier to use than ever - engineers can simply plug the sensor into their product.
AC current sensors for energy management systems
Suitable for power distribution panels in a variety of energy management systems, the CCT series of clamp AC current sensors have been announced by TDK. Offered in two variants, rated for up to 30 and 100A, respectively, the current sensors can be quickly and easily installed in existing power distribution panels thanks to their snap-on clamp design.
Board mount pressure sensors cover 1-150psi range
Honeywell introduce the TBP series of basic board mount pressure sensors. Used to measure gauge pressures, the compensated unamplified sensors suit medical applications including hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, wound therapy and blood pressure monitoring, and industrial applications such as HVAC transmitters, air movement control, environmental control, leak detection, pneumatic controls and other commercial applications.
