Digi-Key, ADI measurement platform kickstarts designs
Digi-Key has forged a partnership with Analog Devices to offer its new MeasureWare platform. This will allow Digi-Key customers to kickstart designs by providing immediate access to availability and pricing of qualifying products.
Sensors and potentiometers swell distributor linecard
Contactless sensors and potentiometers from Piher are the latest additions to Farnell’s linecard. These devices employ state-of-the art, hall-effect and inductive technologies to offer lower cost, high performance control and measurement solutions.
Robust position sensor features self-calibration
A high precision position sensor that offers more robust performance than existing absolute encoders and better resolution and accuracy than traditional Hall effect sensors for industrial robotics and other demanding applications has been released by Vishay Intertechnology.
Enabling smartphones with space-saving accurate distance measurement
ams has released a tiny integrated module for direct time-of-flight (ToF) distance measurement providing accurate measurements from two centimetres up to 2.5m. The TMF8801 is more than 30% smaller than competing ToF sensors, making it perfect for compact space constrained designs, yet offers superior performance in important parameters including accuracy and usability in the presence of sunlight.
Building automation sensor launches at EDS
Omron Electronic Components Europe is demonstrating new MEMS based sensor solutions for building automation, digital signage and other environmental monitoring applications at EDS (Stand K32). Its team will also be available to discuss the full range of PCB relays and switches.
New and improved feature packed dash cam announced
VIOFO has announced that it is introducing an upgraded and much improved version of its A119 V2, the A119 V3 into the UK market. The A119 V3 heralds a top quality addition to the budget dash cam range, offering consumers good value for money in addition to a dash cam packed with features. The A119 V3 is available from Amazon for an RRP of £99.99 with free delivery.
MEMs sensors lower costs in vacuum gauges
MEMS thermopile vacuum sensors that deliver an effective range from 1 millitorr (0.13 Pa) to 1 atm (760 torr, or 101 kPa) to eliminate the need for additional sensing technology and to lower overall solution costs have been introduced by Posifa Technologies.
IR sensor modules boast 300μs reaction time
A series of infra-red (IR) sensor modules in five compact package types has been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. Featuring a fast 300μs reaction time, Vishay Semiconductors TSSP9xxx AGC 0 devices deliver long range presence and proximity sensing up to 2m, and a range up to 30m for light curtain and perimeter guard applications.
Overcurrent detection for diagnostics in automotive safety systems
The electrification of vehicles is occurring not only in powertrain systems such as traction inverters, battery management and electric power steering, but also in automotive safety systems such as anti-lock brake systems or automated driving. Knowing that these systems are operating within the correct operational guidelines will be vital to helping ensure vehicle safety.
Differential pressure sensor with ±0.5 % accuracy
The EE600 from E+E Elektronik measures the differential pressure in the range zero to 1,000 Pa or zero to 10,000 Pa with an accuracy of ±0.5 % of the full scale. The sensor is dedicated for HVAC applications and can be employed for air and all non-flammable and non-aggressive gases.
