The Protect PV.630 outdoor model sets new standards with its excellent efficiency levels higher than 98%, its broad operating temperature range (from -20° C to + 50° C) and its IP54 water and dust ingress security. Innovative cooling technology contributes to the overall efficiency of the Protect PV.630.
“We have designed and constructed the new outdoor Protect PV.630 central inverter for easy transport to the plant construction site and the consequent reduction in installation costs,” says Bob Roos, Vice President Solar Solutions at AEG. “The customer also benefits from a standard design which effectively contributes to further cost savings because of lower maintenance and service costs.”
All former series are available as different indoor and outdoor versions for connection to the medium voltage grid. In addition to the indoor and outdoor versions, Protect PV.630 is also available as a turnkey container solution, TKS-C 1250, equipped with 2 inverters, a transformer and switchgear.
The technical highlight of the new inverter is its power stack PV core, designed in-house with a special control system, enabling an input DC voltage of up to 1,000 V and providing high efficiency levels with its optimized pulse pattern. This enables the efficient use of thin-film modules and cost-efficient complete equipment planning. The total concept is flexible and adjustable to many requirements and is applicable for almost all grid codes worldwide.
For monitoring, the Protect PV.630 comes preinstalled with software capable of sampling, logging and storing a variety of relevant events. When used in compliment with the built-in communications capabilities, Protect PV.630 can be securely and easily managed from a distant location.
