Quantum Science has been recognised for its innovative INFIQ QDs at the Halton Business Awards.

Quantum Science took home the Innovative Business Award in a hotly contested category on Friday (13 June) at a ceremony held at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes.

The award, sponsored by Sci-Tech Daresbury and the Science and Technology Facilities Council, recognised Quantum Science’s infrared QD materials and inks for advanced imaging and sensing applications. This technology supports next-generation QD sensors that can perceive beyond human vision and lowers the barrier to entry to short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging and sensing.

Now in its 15th year, the Halton Business Awards recognises achievements by local organisations across 18 categories with a record number of entries submitted.

Commenting on the win, Dr. Hao Pang, CEO & Founder of Quantum Science, said: “At Quantum Science, we are committed to leading on innovation and we’re delighted that this commitment was recognised by the judges at the Halton Business Awards.

“Our groundbreaking INFIQ technology is facilitating advancements in everything from high-performance industrial cameras to smartphones, bringing exciting new applications into everyday use at a cost affordable to sensor manufacturers. INFIQ is the highest quality QD technology currently commercially available, with industry-leading size and shape, uniformity, and optical and electrical properties, making it an invaluable tool for an expanding industry.

“The Halton Business Awards are an outstanding showcase of local innovation, and it was excellent to see the talent and knowledge on display from other businesses in the area. Quantum Science is grateful to be part of such a thriving community, and I offer my congratulations to all the other award winners and finalists.”
