Vox Power unveils the VCCR300 Conduction Cooled Power Series, a robust DC/DC power supply designed to deliver 300 Watts of power without the need for fans.

This power supply's compact dimensions, measuring just 7.43 x 4.6” and with a slim 1” profile, facilitate easy integration into a range of orientations, offering system designers significant flexibility and space-saving benefits.

The VCCR300 Series boasts a broad DC input voltage range, meeting standard 48V, 72V, 96V, and 110V railway battery specifications as per EN50155. Its efficient design significantly reduces heat output, allowing for an extensive operating temperature range from –40°C to +70°C, with the capacity to endure up to +85°C for brief 10-minute intervals. The series provides standard output voltages of 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V, each with an extensive adjustable range from 90% to 125%.

David Carley, Director of Global Business Development at Vox Power, commented on the new product: "The VCCR300 series delivers reliable power solutions for harsh and rugged environments, where higher power is essential. It offers the ability to adjust and customise the power supply's trimmable voltages, ensuring easy integration and versatility for customers. This power supply's broad input range accommodates the trends in markets like battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), which are moving towards higher bus voltages for efficiency due to increased circuit requirements. It is ideal for applications such as telecoms, roadside boxes, 5G applications, electrified moving equipment, and transportation devices aimed at reducing space constraints while providing reliable, robust, and sustainable power."

For applications requiring more than 300 Watts, users can scale to 600 Watts, 900 Watts, or higher using the onboard droop current share function. This allows for flexible scaling of power requirements and equal power load distribution among each 300W unit.

Standard features include internal fusing, full power 10ms holdup, and the capability for a remote shutdown signal to activate a low power standby mode. The input undervoltage level is programmable to suit specific application needs.

The VCCR300 Series is compliant with the latest railway standards (EN50155), MIL-STD-810G for shock and vibration, and adheres to the latest industrial safety standards (IEC/UL62368-1 3rd Edition). Its EMC emissions and immunity surpass the stipulations of EN50121-3-2, EN55035, and EN55032 class B.

Advanced conformal coating technology bolsters reliability and performance by protecting against environmental factors and providing additional mechanical support. With a calculated Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) exceeding 2 million hours, the VCCR300 series promises enduring reliability in ruggedised packages, making it suitable for demanding applications in environments where robustness and high vibration resistance are required.
