In stock at distributor Mouser Electronics is the MAX77932C dual-phase switched-capacitor converter from Maxim Integrated.

This switched-capacitor converter (SCC) features integrated power switches and delivers an 8A output current, dividing the input voltage by two.

It is suitable for applications that utilise 2S (2-cell) Li+ batteries while powering circuitry that operates at 1S (1-cell) equivalent voltage.

It is also suitable for applications migrating from 1S to 2S battery configurations.

The device simplifies this migration by converting the 2S battery voltage to the 1S equivalent output, allowing designers to preserve the existing downstream 1S power architecture.

Featuring a small solution size, lower EMI, and protection features, the class-leading peak efficiency of 98.5% of the MAX77932C simplifies thermal design.

Applications for the MAX77932C include smartphones and tablets, DSLR and mirrorless cameras, power banks, 2S Li+ battery applications, smartphone direct charging, portable printers, portable gaming devices, mobile Point-of-Sale (mPOS) devices, and two-way radios.
