Vicor’s BCM6135 has been shortlisted for the Electronics Excellence Awards under the Power category.
Vicor BCM6135 enables breakthrough performance in electrified automobiles.
The Vicor BCM6135 is the most power-dense and the fastest (top transient response) DC/DC converter in automotive today. This enables incredible innovation for automobile electrification.
The BCM6135 is a 800V – 48V DC/DC converter that provides up to 2.5kW of power from a module, weighing 58g in a package of 0.016L. It has a switching frequency of 1.4MHz which supports a transient response rate of 8M A/s and a bi-directional power capability that achieves the same power level for buck or boost demands. No other DC/DC converter can match the combined performance. The transient response rate enables the most efficient regenerative power for braking and active suspension.
The BCM6135 is the smallest and lightest DC/DC converter in its class, providing power levels between 4 to 10kW with power densities from 3.6kW/L to over 5kW/L – far exceeding the competition.
