Stadler Rail AG Chose Powernet to supply Converter-solution for railway vehicles

Stadler chose Powernet in part due to light weight of 3kW DC/DC converter and its robust power supply unit which is designed to power electronics and batteries. The mechanical construction also allows easy installation ad the robust electrical design is a perfect match for demanding railway applications. As a whole the form fits into its function and design comes along with moderate price level. The Powernet solution is scheduled for start-up from mid 2010 and last until the end of 2011.

Powernet will build the complete solution for the 32 FLIRT trains and 10 Belarus trains – all designed according to Powernet Custom Design solution.

Our experts are accustomed to working with strict design requirements and specific design standards required by traction industry. One of Powernet´s core competences is in designing power supplies for secured and reliable operation over the long life time”, says Peter Leitman, sales manager of Powernet Deutschland.

All equipments for Stadler will be supplied by Powernet to Stadlers plant in Switzerland.
