Due to the SBRs’ low forward voltage, low leakage current and cooler running characteristics, they can cope with the shorter current pulses of 36kHz discontinuous mode charger designs.
The SBRT15’s features a forward voltage of 0.47V at 15A, while the SBRT20’s features that of 0.5V at 20A and both operate at +90ºC. The forward voltage and operating temperatures minimise conduction losses and increase charger efficiencies.
Blocking mode losses are also minimised by the rectifiers’ low reverse leakage currents at high temperatures, which are 105mA in the SBRT15 and 100mA in the SBRT20 at +125ºC.
Featuring a voltage range spanning from 10 to 100V, the SBRs handle currents from 0.2 to 40A. The SBRT15 and SBRT20 are offered in Diodes’ PowerDI123, PowerDI5 and PowerDI5060 packaging options. Available in 3,000 unit quantities, the rectifiers are priced at $0.25 each.
