The ME40 series is the newest addition to its family of medical-grade external power supplies, announced by SL Power Electronics. The 40W AC/DC external power supply is specifically designed to meet the unique power requirements of home healthcare devices such as patient-monitoring equipment and respiratory devices that require a high level of EMC, EMI, and AC input performance.

The design of these power supplies adheres to the latest medical device standards IEC60601-1 3rd Edition as well as the US Department of Energy’s level VI efficiency requirements of minimum no-load power and efficiency. The low power ME40 models offer:

  • adherence to UL/EN/IEC60601-1-2, 4th edition for EMC
  • reliable patient safety with two Means of Patient Protection (MOPP) Input to Output Isolation
  • high-quality electrolytic capacitors that assure the ME Series of an eight-year plus product life

“With the rapid advances of telemedicine and home healthcare devices, we’re pleased to offer an additional family of medical power solutions that provide maximum performance and satisfy the stringent medical device requirements,” said Cochise Mapa, Director of global product management for SL Power Electronics. “Design engineers can trust that our solutions meet the highest level of safety standards and performance reliability.”

The ME40 series models complement SL Power’s comprehensive external power supply product offering with incremental power levels from 10 to 240W and various DC output connector options, providing maximum flexibility.

Featuring a three-year warranty, pricing for the ME40 series models starts at $19.75 for OEM quantities and are available now through SL Power’s worldwide distribution sales channels.
