The CliQ II DC-UPS family from Delta Electronics, which is suitable for DIN rail mounting is available from Luso. It has been designed to provide simplicity, efficiency and cost competitiveness for general-purpose 24V power supply units (PSUs). Compliant with major EMC and safety standards for IT and industrial requirements, the family is suited to provide back-up DC power in a variety of applications including data centres, building automation, industrial automation, process control and security systems.

The first model available in the family is the DRU-24V40ABN module, which is designed to support 24V DC systems with up to 40A continuous current output and is suitable for use with high ampere-hour SLA (sealed-lead acid) batteries, offering a back-up time of 4.5 minutes up to maximum of 15AH battery capacity.

The product can charge a single 24V or two 12V batteries connected in series and can be used with all power supplies that have an output voltage adjustable up to 28V.

The module’s constant-current charging function delivers prolonged battery life and emits no electromagnetic noise or interference during its charging mode.

Offering a 24 to 28V input voltage range and a wide operating temperature range from –20°C to +60°C, the unit also comes with potential-free contacts for battery-management signals and battery status LED indicators.

Available in a rugged conformal-coated and corrosion-resistant aluminium case that is shock and vibration resistant according to IEC 60068-2, additional specific features of the module include: LED indicators for DC OK, battery fail, DC input, battery reverse polarity and battery discharge; built-in diagnostic monitoring for DC OK, discharge and battery fail via relay contacts; and an MTBF of greater than 500,000 hours, per Telcordia SR-332.

Luso Electronics recently signed a deal with Delta Electronics to become UK and Ireland distributor for its range of high-efficiency and robust power supplies.

In particular, Luso is focusing on selling Delta’s open frame and panel-mount power supplies suitable for industrial and factory automation applications and high quality power supplies for healthcare and medical applications.
