Compared to competing products on the market, the XR1008/XR2008 devices offer six times the bandwidth, while the lower power XR1009/XR2009 devices offer three times the bandwidth. The XR1008/XR2008 amplifiers are designed for industrial and other applications which require high speed and low power, including smart meters and ultrasonic heat meters. The XR1009/XR2009 devices target portable instrumentation and other applications such as interactive whiteboards.
Helping system designers meet their power budget without sacrificing performance, Exar has claimed that the XR1008/XR2008 offers the best available combination of power consumption and performance. The XR1008/XR2008 offer slew rates of 50V/µs and input voltage noise of 12nV/√Hz. The XR1009/XR2009 features 27V/µs slew rates and 21nV/√Hz input voltage noise. All four devices support inputs that extend 300mV beyond the negative supply voltage and provide rail-to-rail outputs.
Dale Wedel, Vice President, High Performance Analog products, Exar, commented: “Designers looking for low power amplifiers do not need to sacrifice speed or performance. These rail-to-rail amplifiers minimise power dissipation in high channel count applications and offer superior electrical characteristic performance, helping our customers design lower power next generation platforms.”
