The new model incorporates twin 4-digit meters giving resolutions of 10 mV and 1 mA, respectively, at all voltages and currents. Local or remote sensing can be selected by a front-panel switch, the latter providing perfect regulation and accurate metering at the load regardless of connection lead lengths.
The EX355R uses mixed-mode regulation technology which combines switch-mode pre-regulation with linear post-regulation. Special techniques are used to maintain very high efficiency while achieving a noise level that is close to that of a pure linear regulator. Line and load regulation are both better than 0.01%, and output noise is less than 2 mV – even at full power.
The unit has been designed to meet the stringent requirements of relevant IEC standards for safety and EMC. The output is intrinsically short-circuit proof, and is protected against external voltages and reverse currents.
The new power supply incorporates the latest TTi safety binding post terminals. These will accept 4 mm fixed shroud plugs – a mandatory safety requirement for an increasing number of organisations – but can also accept fork connectors or bare wires giving maximum flexibility.
