The new instruments share many of the core features found on the KLN 750W supplies which were launched in July of last year. Programming of voltage, current and their limits may be achieved from the front panel controls, by remote analogue means or by RS 485 digital control.
GPIB or LAN interfaces are also available as factory-installed options. A speed controlled fan limits acoustic noise and all instruments come with a three year manufacturer’s warranty. Up to 5 units can be connected in parallel and 2 units in series.
When multiple instruments are being used in a rack, front to back air flow ensures adequate cooling and allows for full power operation without the need for spacers.
David Sheath of Caltest Instruments, who are the exclusive distributors of the KEPCO brand in the UK, said: ‘The KLN instruments offer a reliable source of DC power in a flexible and cost effective package. With such a wide range of models to choose from and a strong set of basic features, the KLN Series is suitable for a broad spectrum of applications in fields such as aerospace, communications, renewables, automation and more. They are simple to operate and provide great power density for the money. For many people, a KEPCO KLN Series instrument will be all the DC power supply they’ll ever need.’
