Fairchild Semiconductor technologists will join experts from industry and academia in presenting papers on the latest developments and the likely future trends in power electronics at The Power Conversion, Intelligent Motion (PCIM) China Conference to be held in Shanghai from June 2nd-4th, 2009.
Fairchild technologist Guy Moxey will present DC-DC Converter integration: Fact, Fiction and Realization of Single Package Solutions versus Discrete. This paper will focus on new approaches in driving higher current densities and increasing switching frequencies in DC-DC conversion applications.

Fairchild technologists Jon Gladish, Bill Choi and Jeongil Lee, will present Matching High and Low Side MOSFETs to Minimize Losses in Synchronous Buck DC-DC Converters. This paper focuses on the selection criteria for matching the high side (control) and low side (synchronous) power MOSFETs in low voltage synchronous buck converters and explores the ways this can lead to a higher efficiency converter design.

Fairchild has been at the forefront of vigorous developments in power electronics, emerging as one of today’s key enablers in the energy-saving field. Power electronics technology drives the burgeoning power supply infrastructure of China. The availability of an energy source is the prime mover of global economic growth. The precise control of electrical energy is a prerequisite for the efficient use of electric power. The consequent application of power electronics can help to save energy of up to 30%.
The PCIM China is China’s most important conference on power electronics. It is aimed at researchers and developers within industry and universities. A breadth of topics will be addressed at the conference such as, power electronics components and systems as well as power converters, motor drives and motion control systems and power quality solutions.
