Murata Power Solutions has introduced two new small form-factor point-of-load (POL) DC/DC Converters that deliver high-efficiency and high current density for powering DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3 memory, as well as general purpose ICs in multiple applications.
The 60A-rated VCN60BADJTU-1C and 70A-rated VCN70BADJTU-1C provide high efficiency, high bandwidth solutions for a wide range of applications such as computer equipment, telecommunications hardware, test equipment and industrial automation.

Both the 60A and 70A DC/DC converters have a current density of approximately 50A/in3 and efficiency of 88% at full load. Programmable output voltage range is 0.6 to 3.5VDC, with a typical set point accuracy of 0.5%. Input voltage is 12VDC, and the modules have an industry standard height of 1U that can help simplify integration.

Other key features of the VCN60BADJTU-1C and VCN70BADJTU-1C include a soft start circuit, differential remote sense, power good signal, pre-bias turn on, and output enable. Comprehensive safety features that include over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection further enhance the appeal of the modules to design engineers.

The VCN60BADJTU-1C has overall dimensions of 61mm (L) x 9.5mm (W) x 31.8mm (H), while the VCN70BADJTU-1C measures 61mm x 16.8 x 31.8mm. The pinout of both devices is identical, allowing customers to use interchangeably based on power requirements of different applications.
