New PFC controller cuts power consumption in half
Texas Instruments has announced the release of the UCC28180 8-pin power factor correction controller. Featuring the industry's widest range programmable frequency operating in continuous conduction mode, the UCC28180 delivers power factor correction greater than 0.95 and also cuts power consumption in half, compared to existing solutions.
Regulator increases power system design efficiency
The new ZL2102 signals an expansion by Intersil of their industry-leading family of power management ICs. The ZL2102, a 6 Amp digital synchronous step-down DC/DC power regulator, is a fully integrated regulator able to support adjustable output voltages of 0.54V to 5.5V operating from input voltages from 4.5V up to 14V.
Compact metal power inductors feature profile of just 1.0mm
The new VLS-HBX series of compact metal power inductors has been announced by TDK. Featuring a high current capability and profile of just 1.0mm, the two new types have footprints of 2.0 mm x 1.6 mm and 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm respectively. Due to the use of a magnetic metal core material with a high saturation flux density, the power inductors offer rated currents of up to 6.0 A DC, depending on type.
MEAN WELL extends middle wattage models with RSP-100 series
MEAN WELL have unveiled the RSP-100 series, a 100W AC/DC low profile single output enclosed type switching power supply with PFC function, which extends their middle wattage offering. The RSP-100 series lowers its height, reduces the size by 33%, and increase the efficiency by 8% when compared to the preceding models of the SP-100 series.
Automotive brushed DC motor driver ICs
Expanding its line-up of small sized brushed DC motor drivers for automotive applications, Toshiba introduce the TB9101FNG and TB9102FNG motor driver ICs. Supplied in a 5.6 mm x 7.8 mm SSOP24 package, the TB9101FNG and TB9102FNG feature on-resistances of 0.6Ω (Typ.) and 0.5Ω (Typ.), respectively, and can drive up to two and six motors, respectively.
