240 & 480W DIN-rail supplies address space constraints
Addressing space constraints on TS-35/7.5 or TS-35/15 DIN-rails in the industrial control market, Mean Well has added 240 and 480W models to its NDR-xx series of slim, economical DIN-rail power supplies, measuring 63 and 85.5mm, respectively. The NDR-240 and NDR-480 models feature volumes reduced by 43 and 51.6%, respectively, compared to the previous generation DRP-240/480 series.
Cut battery charge-time by 60%
Enabling faster and cooler charging, Texas Instruments has introduced the industry’s first fully integrated 5A single-cell Li-ion battery-charger circuit. The bq25892 switch-mode charger features the company’s proprietary MaxCharge technology, which reduces charge time up to 60% compared to existing battery chargers.
DIN-rail AC/DC supplies offer peace of mind
Dengrove Electronics has announced the availability of Recom's Redi AC/DC DIN-rail mount power supplies, with a seven year warranty. The supplies have integral high-reliability components and are subject to 100% full-load burn-in test, the units offer a design lifetime of 10 years at 40°C ambient temperature.
Reliable transformer rectifiers offer 1000kW
DP Energy Services (Formerly Drake Power) has announced its Powerstax-Drake series of Transformer Rectifiers, offering output voltages from 2 to 600V, output currents of up to 5,000A and output power up to 1000kW. These are 3 phase input, primary or secondary thyristor controlled units, with switch-mode technology available for smaller systems.
On the road to software defined power architecture
Software defined power architecture is increasingly being seen as the future for advanced board power management to bring energy efficiency and power-optimised capabilities in datacomms and networking applications by 2020, says Patrick Le Fèvre, Ericsson Power Modules.
'The Essential Guide to Power Supplies'
Written as 156-page technical guide, The Essential Guide to Power Supplies from XP Power, explains all major aspects of AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters and their integration into today’s electronic equipment it outlines recent changes in legislation for safety and energy efficiency.
Medical power adapters deliver hard-to-find outputs
A series of medical grade power adapters that deliver many hard-to-find dual and triple output voltages have been introduced by TRUMPower. The TSM100 class I units meet 2 MOPP and are feature an IEC 320/C14 AC inlet and an optional power switch. The series comes with 25 dual and triple output models offering combinations of +3.3, +5, ±12, ±15, and ±24V at 55-80W output power.
Power supplies are suitable for medical applications
AC/DC power supplies, from Power Sources Unlimited, are specifically designed for direct patient contact. They are suitable for BF rated medical applications (not for life-support equipment) and meet 2x MOPP and EN/UL 60601-1 3rd edition safety standards. The single output PMAM115 series of compact 115W power supplies measure 2x4x1.3" with an open-frame footprint that delivers continuous power with 7CFM of forced air cooling.
