Excelsys Technologies has introduced the Xqite 900W modular power supply. Measuring just 1U high and 260mm x 127mm the Xqite family of power supplies has been developed for applications that demand low acoustic noise output. Typical noise sensitive markets include audio, broadcast, telecomms and some IT and medical environments. The new Xqite family offers 11W/in³ power density with up to 90% efficiency.
Featuring the remarkable Excelsys innovative “plug and play” architecture end users can configure a unique custom power solution in less than 5 minutes from a wide range of off-the-shelf modules. The Xqite family is comprised of two powerPac chassis models offering either 400W or 900W output power and seven powerMods output modules that may be mixed to meet individual requirements. A 5V bias/standby voltage is provided on both powerPacs and front panel LED’s provide visual system status checks.

PowerMods are available with nominal output voltages of 2.5V, 5.0V, 12.0V, 24.0V, 48.0V, and 24/24V. As all modules are isolated polarity is user selectable and modules may be configured in series or parallel for higher output voltages or current. The Excelsys Xqite has a universal input range, 85-264VAC, over voltage protection and will operate at full load up to 50°C. All possible configurations carry full safety agency approvals, UL60950, EN60950 and are CE marked.

Gary Duffy, Managing Director of Excelsys Technologies, comments. “We have discovered a good market for quiet power supplies. It is a growing part of our overall 1U power supply business and the Excelsys Xqite not only meets this industry required envelope but does so with unparalleled operational efficiency and user convenience.”

Exclesys products offer a unique combination of low loss technologies, the best field-proven planar magnetics and a high degree of surface mount assembly to ensure ultra-high efficiency and reduced system thermal load, more than 50% less than conventional designs.

Typical applications include audio, broadcast, telecom, instrumentation, n+1 and redundant power systems, test and measurement equipment, printing and IT power.
