Expanding the company's Okami range of non-isolated converters, a series of 50A digitally controlled PoL DC/DC converters have been introduced by Murata Power Solutions. Capable of delivering 50A/165W from a high power density module measuring only 30.85x20.0x8.2mm, the OKDx-T/50 series can be configured and monitored using industry standard PMBus commands.

Available in three different package formats, through-hole, single-in-line and surface-mount, the converters have exactly the same footprint as the 40A OKDx-T/40 series released in September with 25% higher power density. Accommodating input voltages in the range 4.5 to 14VDC and a configurable output voltage of 0.6-3.3VDC, the OKDx-T/50 series offers typical efficiency of 97.2% at 5VIN, 3.3VOUT and with 50% load. The OKDx-T/50 PoL converters are suitable for use in a broad range of telecommunications, wireless infrastructure and data networking equipment.

Providing all the features of the 40A OKDx-T/40 series, this series also offers 'Dynamic Loop Compensation’, in which the PID parameters of the control loop are automatically calculated and configured depending on the operating conditions and output filter. The Non-Linear Transient Response decreases response time and output voltage deviation, while phase spreading reduces input capacitance requirements and efficiency losses.

Other features include optimised dead time control that constantly adjusts dead time non-overlap in order to minimise duty cycle and maximise efficiency and digital current sharing enables 100% current sharing accuracy with up to seven PoLs in parallel.

Standard safety features include output short circuit, over current, output over voltage, input under voltage protection, power good, remote sense and remote on/off.
