Vishay has introduced a precision thin film surface-mount resistor networks and dividers to feature a 4-mm by 4-mm dual flat no-lead package with a 0.65-mm pitch and low 1-mm profile. The new package format of the DFN series saves 53 % on PC board space compared to traditional 5-mm by 6-mm SOIC 8-lead packages.
The devices released today feature precision ratio tolerances to ± 0.05 % and stable film and performance characteristics of 500 ppm at + 70 °C for 2,000 hours. The DFN resistor networks and dividers offer tight TCR tracking to ± 3 ppm and ± 5 ppm, respectively. These specifications make the devices ideal for unity gain operational amplifier applications in industrial, telecommunication, military, and test and measurement instrumentation and equipment.

The DFN resistor networks offer a resistance range from 100 Ω to 100 kΩ per element. The dividers feature a resistance range from 1 kΩ to 100 kΩ with ratios from 2:1 to 100:1. All devices offer power ratings of 50 mW at + 70 °C per resistor, very low noise of < - 30 dB, voltage coefficients of 0.1 ppm/V, and a temperature range of − 55 °C to +125 °C.

The DFN devices are halogen-free and qualified to Moisture Sensitivity Level 1 per J-STD-020. Offering lead (Pb)-free or lead terminations, the resistor networks and dividers are compliant with RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and flame-resistant in accordance with UL 94 V-0. Custom configurations of the devices are available.

Samples and production quantities of the DFN series are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for standard orders.
