As per the scope of UL 810A Recognition, Tecate’s RoHS-compliant PowerBurst parts are ideally suited for short-term back-up power in “last gasp” telecom transmission, RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), SSDs (Solid-State Drives), and PCI cards. They may also be employed to provide backup in uninterruptible power supplies and emergency lighting, as well as to hold or bridge power when the primary power source fails, or when batteries are swapped out. Parts are commonly specified in such wireless products as cell phones, portable data terminals, and personal digital assistants. In addition, the ultracapacitors are an excellent choice for remote sensor applications, and in conjunction with batteries or other power sources when batteries alone do not satisfy reliability and performance objectives.
Boasting a wide operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to +65 degrees C, a limitless charge/discharge cycle life (500K cycles) and a low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), PowerBurst ultracapacitors promote optimal product and system performance. The cylindrical, radial leaded 2.7V TPL and 2.7 TPLS cells with snap-in leads are available in capacitance values ranging from 0.5 F to 400 F. They are provided in sizes from 8 mm (D) x 12 mm (L) to 35 mm (D), to 35 mm (D) X 60 mm (L). Tecate’s 5.4V UL 810A Recognized modules include the radial-leaded PBL series and the PBLL series, which utilizes flexible leads and a JST ZHR-2 quick connector. PBL/PBLL parts feature a capacitance range of from 0.25 F to 15.0 F. Sizes in this series range from 18.0 mm (L) X 9.0 mm (W) X 16.0 mm (H), to 37.0 mm (L) X 35.0 mm (W) X 17.5 mm (T).
