Multi-function switch is just 1.55mm high

The new switch features a height of just 1.55mm and a body size of 10.4 x 10.4mm. It incorporates five independent switches and has no actuator allowing designers to create customised actuators that are suitable for their particular application. It has been designed for use in all applications where reliability and long mechanical life (a minimum of 200,000 operation cycles) are essential. Because of these characteristics, it is ideal for use within telecommunications or consumer electronics as well as applications that include a menu selection / control function.
The TSSJ 55 is a five-position switch – four directions (each with an operating force of 180gf) plus centre push (360gf) for confirmation of the user’s selection – with switching contacts rated at 12VDC/50mA and a maximum contact resistance of 100mO. The operating temperature is -20° to +70°C, storage temperature is between -40° to +85°C.
The actuator itself and the switch body are made from high temperature thermoplastic nylon to UL94V-0 and capable of lead free soldering processes (250°C, 10 sec. 255°C max.).
