MLCCs offer reliable high current discharge pulses

Delivering reliable short-duration pulse generation in harsh environments up to +200°C, pulse discharge MLCCs have been introduced by KEMET. Suited for applications such as munitions and down-hole detonation circuitry, KEMET’s patented high reliability base metal electrode dielectric system is 100% Pb-free, RoHS compliant and REACH compliant without exemptions.

The pulse discharge capacitors offer higher and more uniform breakdown voltage performance than competitive dielectric solutions resulting in increased reliability in customer field applications. When dealing with large and expensive detonation systems, increased reliability can quickly result in significant cost savings.

With discharge voltages of up to 3,500V and capacitances up to 150nF, the pulse discharge capacitors are suitable for firing set circuitry utilising exploding foil initiators or slapper detonators.
