“These resistors exhibit excellent stability at extremely high temperatures, as well as superior power handling capabilities and an extended resistance range and working voltage ratings,” said Gary Bleasdell, director of IRC’s thick film business unit. “These electrical characteristics make the HTC Series resistors ideal for a variety of harsh environments including automotive underhood, aerospace, down-hole instrumentation, oil and gas equipment, motor controls, power supply and circuit-protection applications.”
The thick film chip resistors feature Pb-free wrap-around terminations with a leach-resistant nickel barrier. The resistors meet MIL-STD-202 specifications for load life, moisture resistance and thermal shock.
The HTC Series resistors feature a resistance range from 1.0 to 10M. Maximum voltage ratings for the 1206, 2010 and 2512 chip sizes are 200V, 400V and 500V, respectively. Tolerances are to ±0.5%, ±1% and ±5%, with absolute TCRs of ±100ppm/°C. Operating temperature ranges from -55°C to +200°C. IRC will also produce devices outside these specifications to meet customer requirements.
