AVX Receives DSCC Approval for TBW Fused Tantalum Chip Series

AVX has received Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) approval for its TBW Series fused tantalum chip. Providing low equivalent series resistance (ESR), the TBW tantalum fuse is ideal for safe low impedance power supply filtering. The TBW Series features a fast-acting and failsafe internal fuse element, making it well suited to mission-critical applications where fail-safe operation is needed, such as avionic power supplies and power distribution, banked applications for bulk decoupling and backplane.

The TBW Series offers the lowest ESR value available for a fused tantalum in a case size that is less than half that of the competition, said Dan Lane, Marketing Manager, Tantalum Products at AVX.

The technology also enables the capacitor to be supplied with full Weibull grade reliability including level B and C.
