US-based electrical testing company Blackmon Power has overhauled its asset monitoring process, cutting report generation times from up to 12 hours to just five minutes by integrating Flir’s new i65 thermal imaging camera with the Condoit Cloud-based data platform, the company said.

The move marks a significant shift from traditional manual thermography workflows towards a fully connected, data-driven approach, allowing faster diagnostics, greater accuracy, and enhanced collaboration across field and office teams.

Until recently, Blackmon Power said its technicians followed a familiar, labour-intensive process: capturing thermal images, storing them on SD cards, transferring files to office computers, and manually compiling reports. A small inspection covering just 10–15 components could take two hours to document, while larger jobs might consume an entire workday. Reporting alone accounted for up to 30% of job time.

By contrast, the combined Flir–Condoit system allows real-time data capture and automatic cloud synchronisation. The Flir i65, part of the manufacturer’s latest iXX-Series, pairs infrared imaging with smartphone-style usability. Meanwhile, the Condoit platform automates report generation, offers guided maintenance workflows aligned with NFPA 70B standards, and provides clients with a dedicated online portal for visibility into their assets.

The Condoit app connects wirelessly with most Flir cameras, eliminating the need for manual image sorting or software juggling. Engineers can now review scans remotely as field teams work, while customers gain immediate access to inspection data via Condoit’s portal.

“Reporting has moved from the office to the field,” said Tyler Grant, Project Manager at Blackmon Power. “What used to take us 12 hours now takes five minutes. I’ve been doing this job for over a decade, and it’s never been this easy.”

The integrated workflow was first deployed at T5 Data Centers’ Kings Mountain Campus, a 60 MW facility in the US described as the region’s only “forever on” data centre. Technicians used the i65 to scan electrical distribution systems, identifying temperature anomalies in seconds. Data was uploaded to the Cloud instantly, reducing manual data handling to nearly zero.

Flir and Condoit said they plan to host a free webinar for companies interested in adopting similar technology.
