One of the most versatile is based on a piezo technology. This range is available in a large number of fibre types including single mode at short wavelengths, multimode, large core and polarisation maintaining fibres.
Standard configurations include 1×2 to 1×16 and 2×2 to 2×8, with custom versions also available. All versions have a low insertion loss, high optical isolation and excellent repeatability. The optical switches can be easily incorporated into complex setups as an integrated microcontroller provides a number of different interfaces including TTL, RS232 and I2C. The switches are available in a compact housing or as a benchtop unit.
