Oclaro, Inc. today announced that its expansive line of fiber coupled laser diodes delivers the highest power from a single bar, smallest form factor and leading reliability for the DPSS (Diode Pumped Solid State) market. The Oclaro Prosario platform with up to 60W at 808nm and 50W at 880nm delivers up to 20% higher reliable power and efficiency from a single-bar fiber coupled package compared to competitive offerings and the Oclaro Orion family at 25W offers the most compelling price/performance solution in the industry at half the size of competitive solutions.

Oclaro offers a complete solution package for the DPSS market, which includes the Oclaro Prosario platform serving the 30W+ power DPSS market, the Oclaro Orion platform serving the 15-25W space and the BMU platform serving the sub-10W market. All of these laser diode families leverage Oclaro's proprietary vertically integrated chip and packaging technology, resulting in unparalleled performance and reliability.

About the Prosario Family
With power conversion efficiencies (PCE) exceeding 50% and proven reliability of more than 20,000 hours, the Oclaro Prosario platform enables customers to achieve higher output power from a DPSS system design based on a single pump source, significantly reducing the cost and complexity of the laser design. The Oclaro Prosario family delivers 30 to 60W from a 400, 600 or 800um fiber output across a wavelength range of 790 to 980nm. The package has a compact, industry-recognized footprint with a detachable fiber, thereby facilitating system upgrades or drop-in replacements for solid state lasers pump sources. The hard-soldered passively cooled laser bar inside the Prosario package utilizes cutting-edge device design and proprietary E2 facet passivation to deliver unprecedented power and reliability. Advanced precision micro-optics based packaging technology efficiently couples the power from the bar into the fiber, enabling high PCE, high brightness and high power reliable operation from the package.

About the Orion Family
The Oclaro 808nm Orion platform at 25W squarely meets the needs of the lower power DPSS segment and offers the most compelling price performance solution in the industry. With half the size of competitive offerings the innovative Orion platform enables compact, cost-competitive, high performance DPSS systems. The Oclaro Orion family is the ideal solution for solid state pumping as well as for other direct medical and materials processing applications. This fiber coupled mini-bar based platform delivers 15W to 25W at 808nm from a 200um 0.17NA fiber with more than 20,000 hours of reliability, and is the industry's highest brightness pump source at 25W. With optimized bar design and fiber-coupling technology, the Oclaro Orion modules demonstrate high electro-optical performance as well as a well-confined, stable spectral profile, enabling more efficient solid state laser pumping.

About the Oclaro BMU Family
The Oclaro BMU platform is a compact, fiber coupled single-emitter package, delivering 7W at 808nm from a 200um fiber with a 0.22NA. The module includes a multimode E2 facet passivated laser diode chip, delivering high power, performance and reliability required for solid state pumping. Proprietary coupling process allows for high output powers that are very stable with both time and temperature.
