e-con Systems has developed a USB camera application for Android smartphones and tablets. Webeecam supports any camera that conforms to the USB Video Class (UVC) specification which includes an array of off-the -shelf webcams. This makes your USB camera portable and allows you to instantly share the captured images using any social media applications.

e-con Systems’ intends to add new features every month like the ability to connect multiple UVC USB cameras to the phone/tablet.

Ashok Babu, President, e-con Systems, commented: "With the next generation of applications and products built around tablets and phones, there is an increasing need for interfacing the common PC peripherals such as USB webcams with these mobile devices. Our Webeecam enables off-the-shelf USB UVC webcams and other speciality UVC cameras such as microscopes, borescopes and thermal cameras on phones and tablets, where tablets can become the processing platform with rich user experience. Customers can benefit from e-con’s expertise to interface speciality cameras with any off-the-shelf Android phone or tablet to develop novel applications around these Android devices."

Webeecam provides access to all UVC camera controls supported by the USB camera and also supports all resolutions available with it. Apart from webcams, Webeecam can be used with USB borescopes, microscopes and other speciality USB cameras.

e-con Systems offers a free trial version: interested customers can download it from Google Play.
