2 kW to 8 kW Direct Diode laser power with flexible beam shape, ideal for heat treating, cladding and welding applications.

Coherent’s next generation direct diode laser series, its HighLight D-Series, delivers both high power and an increased range of smart output beam shapes, making it the ideal source for heat treating, cladding, and welding applications-all at faster speeds, greater deposition rates and larger areas.

In cladding and heat treating, the higher power and longer line beam of the HighLight D-Series lasers increase production speeds to new benchmark levels, allowing larger areas to be processed in a single pass.

In cladding, the HighLight D-Series yields a higher material deposition rate (up to 18 lbs/hour), allowing the laser to paint-on metal.

The newest member of this series, the HighLight 8000D, with up to 8 kW of 975 nm direct diode power, is the most powerful direct diode laser system currently available with free space beam delivery (no fiber-coupling needed). Free space beam delivery preserves the inherent brightness of the diode laser source and enables the use of an optical system with a large (275 mm) working distance. Additional power levels in this series include 2 kW, 4 kW, and 6 kW-all at 975 nm.

The unique design of the HighLight D-Series’ compact laser head enables a wide range of output beam size options that won’t restrict application deployment.

* The 6 kW and 8 kW models offer line beam dimensions of 1 mm width and either 6 mm, 12 mm, or 24 mm length.

* Lower powered systems have additional beam lengths of 3 mm, 4 mm, or 5 mm.

An optional beam shaping accessory can expand the 1 mm beam width dimension to 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm or 12 mm.
