Alliance Memory recently expanded its range of 3V multi-input/output serial NOR flash memory products, introducing new 4Mb and 16Mb versions housed in the SOP8 Narrow Body (150mils) package.

The 4Mb AS25F304MD-10S1IN and 16Mb AS25F316MQ-10S1IN devices offer fast read speeds of up to 104MHz and quick program and erase times of 1.1ms and 2.6ms, respectively.

These newly released devices operate using a single power supply ranging from 2.7 to 3.6V and can function within an industrial temperature range from -40 to +85°C. The AS25F304MD-10S1IN supports both single and dual SPI operations, whereas the AS25F316MQ-10S1IN additionally supports quad SPI mode. These solutions feature low maximum erase/program currents of 1.3mA and read currents of 3.7mA at 104MHz. They also offer reliable performance with a lifespan of 100,000 program/erase cycles and a data retention period of 20 years.

The devices are capable of uniform 4KB, 32KB, or 64KB erases and possess program/erase suspend and resume capabilities. The AS25F316MQ-10S1IN also includes an 8/16/32/64 byte wrap-around burst read mode. For enhanced security, they feature block protection, a unique 128-bit ID for each device, a discoverable parameters (SFDP) register, and a 4K-bit secured OTP to safeguard against unauthorised access and accidental programming or erasing.

Designed to address the needs of the computer, consumer, communications, and IoT markets, these serial NOR flash memory products are suitable for various applications. These include chipsets in hard drives, DVD and Blu-ray players, wireless LANs, cable modems, printers, set-top boxes, LCD displays, digital cameras, Bluetooth devices, handheld GPS units, smart meters, and more.

Samples and production quantities of the 3V serial NOR flash memory products are available now, with lead times of 8 to 12 weeks.
