Ultra Compact 26.5 GHz RF Photonic Transmitter and Receiver

MPS announces Ultra Compact 26.5 GHz RF Photonic Transmitter and Receiver Design to provide superior wideband performance for high density integration, antenna remoting and signal support applications. The Ultra Compact Transmitter (UCT) & Ultra Compact Receiver (UCR) form factor offers design engineers and systems integrators a miniaturized package for incorporation into RF Photonic transport subsystems when Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) is a critical systems engineering design requirement.

The UCT and the UCR have been developed as an alternate packaging option for the MP-2320, MP-5000, and MP-6000 series of RF Photonic Links. The flexibility of the UCT & UCR packaging can be leveraged across the entire RF frequency spectrum from 5 MHz to 26.5 GHz.

The UCT packaging can be delivered with a bulkhead mounted connector or a single mode fiber optic pigtail. The pigtail length and connector type are user specified options. The UCT has visual indicators for power on/off and for presence of a fault condition. The DB-15 interconnect provides power to the module and the health and status of the unit via RS-232/422 Serial Protocol.

The UCR packaging is delivered with a single mode fiber optic pigtail which can accommodate User specified lengths and optical connector types. In addition, the UCR package has a field replaceable SMA/F output connector. Finally, the UCR delivers an Open Collector BIT Alarm output pin for integration within a higher order Monitor and Control (M&C) software architecture.
