Murata, has announced the introduction of a new family of competitively priced, three terminal ceramic resonators targeted at CANbus applications.
An expansion of Murata’s Ceralock range, the CSTCE-V-C family is available in the frequency range from 14 to 20MHz. Total frequency tolerance has been improved over previous devices to ensure compatibility with CAN requirements.

Features particularly appropriate to automotive applications include a total frequency stability from +/-3000ppm to +/-7500ppm. Further, to meet the stringent demands of the automotive industry, the ceramic resonators are specified across the operating temperature range from –40 to 125oC.

The devices are smaller and thinner than existing parts, measuring just 3.2 x 1.3 x 0.9mm, and are priced competitively. Designers are offered land pattern compatibility across the Murata resonator families, from 8 to 20MHz. Additional features include decreased current consumption due to low voltage operation.

These ceramic parts are constructed with gold flash electrodes to enable conductive glue mounting and/or lead free soldering. The CSTCE-V-C family of ceramic resonators is fully RoHS compliant.
