Traffic sign control by energy harvesting switches
When talking about Energy Harvesting Switches, the first applications that one thinks of are primarily in the smart home, building and industrial automation industry. A ZF Friedrichshafen’s customer, Westcotec, has developed an application for traffic signs using the ZF Energy Harvesting Switch.
High-performance switch for use in harsh environments
Kontron has announced the CP6940, a 1/10/40 Gigabit Ethernet switch for CompactPCI and VME embedded systems. The CP6940, which has been specifically optimised for multicast applications, is designed for long-term programs and use in harsh environments and in an extended temperature range from -40 to +85°C.
Isolated smart switches for harsh industrial environments
Silicon Labs has introduced a family of compact, robust isolated smart switches designed to drive any load, even in the harshest industrial environments. The new Si834x isolated switches are well suited for driving resistive and inductive loads such as solenoids, relays and lamps used in industrial control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), I/O modules, relay drivers and servo motor controllers.
Edge-wound inductor provides low DCR down to 0.25mΩ
An IHDM edge-wound, through-hole inductor with rated current up to 150A for industrial and military applications has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Featuring a powdered iron alloy core technology, the Vishay Custom Magnetics IHDM-1008BC-30 provides stable inductance and saturation over a demanding operating temperature range from -40 °C to +180 °C with low power losses and excellent heat dissipation.
Anti‐vandal switches customisation offered
CIT Relay & Switch offers a broad line of sealed, illuminated Anti‐Vandal switches. Ranging from 10mm up to 40mm, the styles offer dot and ring illumination with CUSTOM laser printing available, with body and actuator finish options including stainless steel, nickel and anodised aluminium.
New terminal shape for a thinner detector switch design
Alps Alpine, a manufacturer of high-quality electronic products, has developed a SPVQ8 Series detector switch for use in detecting the opening and closing of side doors, hoods and other vehicle doors. Electrification of vehicles is progressing and cars are becoming lighter. The electronic components inside them therefore need to be smaller and lighter, too.
Heat sink extrusions cover wide range of bar lengths
Global distribution of the newly expanded line of Heat Sink Extrusions from Advanced Thermal Solutions (ATS) is announced by New Yorker Electronics. The Extrusion Profiles series is comprised of over 200 aluminium alloy extrusions in bar lengths of 300mm and 1220mm.
Power line chokes offer varying rated currents
Current Compensated Frame Core Power Line Chokes from Moxie Inductor are in stock at New Yorker Electronics. The ROHS-compliant devices are vertically mounted and supply high inductance with a low resistance. They are available in four new series’ with varying rated currents.
Push switch clarity realised with quiet operation
Alps Alpine has added a model with 0.9mm travel to its SKSU Series compact, middle-stroke TACT Switch lineup. The SKSUBCE010 realises push clarity along with quiet operation and a distinct click, suitable for automotive use. The newly developed product’s 0.9mm travel places it at the longer end of the middle stroke range.
Rugged high-performance Ethernet switches for HPEC applications
Eurotech has expanded its portfolio of HPEC systems with the DynaNET 10G-01 and the DynaNET 100G-01, two rugged and liquid-cooled Layer 3 Ethernet switches designed for unprecedented networking performance in automotive and other embedded applications.
