The newest addition measures 15.6” diagonally and has an outline of 356 mm x 223 mm along its perimeter. Unlike some PCAP displays that only support one or two simultaneous user touches, the 15.6” display supports a true multi-touch interface with as many as 16 simultaneous touches. True multi-touch capabilities are critical to a number of applications such as gaming, medical diagnostic equipment, industrial controls, food services, interactive maps and other systems that require simultaneous actions and involve collaboration among multiple users.
Due to its durable glass construction, the new 15.6” touch panel is resistant to scratching, harsh chemicals and other contaminants. It operates over an industrial temperature range from -30° to 70° C. The optical clarity of the projected capacitive panel is far superior to other types of touch panels, such as resistive touch. The very thin, 1.6 mm profile of the panel makes it ideal for lightweight mobile devices, such as tablet PCs.
