Featuring a typical brightness of 450cd/m² and a typical contrast ratio of 2,000:1, a 70" full HD multi-touch monitor has been introduced by Crystal Display Systems. The manufacturer has claimed that the CDS-700SLT large format display is being offered at a much lower cost than equivalent models on the market.

The high quality, super slim monitor measures just 89mm thick (including touch screen) and features an ultra-wide Viewing Angles of 178/178°. The CDS-700SLT is suitable for use in applications such as exhibitions, factory automation, retail, digital signage, wayfinders, education, whiteboard replacements, conference rooms, control rooms, point of information and point of sale.

LED back lighting is used for the display since it is more energy efficient and provides a much brighter image than traditional CCFL backlights. Automatic temperature control is also included: an on-board temperature sensor measures the internal temperature and then, automatically adjusts the cooling FAN operation

Chris Bartram, Managing Director, Crystal Display Systems, commented: "This is not a cheap product but we are offering a very good product at a much more competitive price than many of those currently on the market, as we feel that the prices being charged are way too high, especially as the cost of the technology has reduced in previous months!”

Crystal Display Systems has also said that an 84" version will be available very soon.
